I recently had the opportunity to photograph Cinder for the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society's 2012 Calendar. She was a great model, and a cat with tons of personality. Since I love to get to know the pets that I photograph, I asked Linda if she could tell me a little bit about her cat. Cinder is a long haired black cat, adopted from the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society in August 2010 at the age of 6 months. She was one of two foster kittens that Linda's niece fostered at her home since the age of 2 weeks old. Being a foster kitten surrounded by two other family cats, a German Shepherd, a bird, children, and her litter mate sister, made settling into her new permanent home very easy. Cinder is now one of four cats at her home, along with a senior smooth coat Collie named Lucky who is 16 years old. The furry family are all shelter pets. Cinder loves to be snuggled and get her paws played with. She is also a bit of a drooler. Her only bad habit is in the morning when she starts biting Linda's feet to wake her for breakfast or play time. Cinder chirps like a bird but does not meow. Maybe it's from growing up very young with a bird?
