In late July I met up with Heather, Tom, and their two dogs Morgan and Nellie, in North Park. Morgan and Nellie are going to be featured in the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society 2012 Calendar. To support WPHS, you can purchase a copy of the calendar today.
Morgan is an 11 year old Corgie mix who is often mistaken for a puppy. They got her at the county shelter when she was about six months old. Everyone who sees her describes her as "sweet". She is always wagging, even at the vet. She loves riding in the car - going on road trips or tagging along on errands. Morgan has been to seven states and four foreign countries and ridden on airplanes, trains, buses, taxis and trams. (In France, she drank water at a seaside restaurant out of a Moet et Chandon ice bucket!)
Nellie is a 3 year old Coonhound. They got her at about six weeks old from the Westmoreland County shelter, and keep waiting for her to outgrow her Terrible Twos. She likes to bark. If she is not barking, she is probably asleep. She loves ALL people and wags with her whole body to get their attention for some petting. She weighs more than 60 pounds but can curl up into a tiny ball the size of a loaf of bread. She loves to snuggle.
After the session Tom told me that he couldn't believe this was the same session that they had been too. At the time it felt like herding cats. I'm really happy with the result.
