Last spring I worked with Sandy Yetter of Red Lotus Photography, second shooting Maureen and Art's wedding at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Garden. Phipps is a special place for me because that is where Bradley and I got married. Every year we visit the Broderie Room on our anniversary to put a coin in the wishing well. As I packed my bags to head over to the wedding, I put a couple of quarters in my pocket, just like Sandy and Amanda did for us, just in case we were doing portraits there after the ceremony. :) It was a gorgeous spring day, and as Sandy photographed Maureen while she was getting ready, I stayed with the guys in the outdoor garden where the ceremony was to be held. The garden and event room was decorated with beautiful red butterflies that complemented the red accent color in Maureen's truly amazing dress. Instead of lighting a unity candle during the ceremony, they took sticks that they had found while hiking, and ribbons filled with memories, and tied it all together and placed it in an urn with sand. They created a beautiful keepsake and symbol of togetherness.
