A wedding day filled with kilts, bagpipes, penguins, and a genuinely nice couple. That pretty much summarizes what I am about to show you. I realized when I re-designed my website that I have hardly shown any of the great weddings that I have experienced in the last two years. Photos don't do much good buried deep within the computer, so today I decided to share a wedding from the archives. Melissa and Chris were married at the National Aviary that is located on the North Shore here in Pittsburgh. I was assisting Dmitriy for the day, and while he photographed Melissa getting ready, I stayed with the groom.
In lack of a mirror, Chris focused intensely on prepping his bow tie in front of a framed picture of penguins.
Melissa and Chris had decided on doing a first look in West Park to utilize the time before the ceremony for portraits. We stood in the shade and waited in anticipation. I love first looks!Bagpipe. Yes!
As part of the ceremony, Melissa and Chris wedding bands were passed around among all the guests as a blessing ceremony. It was such a sweet moment to watch.
I have a weak spot for grandparents at weddings.
Married! :)Love it!
In the evening a penguin was brought out to greet the guests and the newly married couple. What an awesome way to end a fabulous day.
