Happy Friday guys! Today I’d like to share a few favorites from a recent session with Cody, Megan, and Ava. Cody the Pomeranian, named after a Kodiak bear, was a Christmas gift for Jennifer almost 14 years ago. As he is getting older Jen wanted to do something special to commemorate his personality and their companionship with a portrait session. Jen’s parents joined us, because even though Cody is technically Jen’s, he adores her mom more than anyone in the world. Jen says that Cody is the smartest dog that she has ever met. He sneezes to say “no”, and barks to say “yes” to answer questions. He tilts his head to the side when you ask him “where is Phoebe?” a.k.a. his girlfriend, and gives high-fives for treats.
Ava is Jen’s adopted Rottweiler who turned 5 this spring. Ava is Cody's best buddy – she’s a calm, gentle old soul and he appreciates that. Megan a.k.a. Nutmeg is Cody’s little sister. Megan is about 2 years old and crawled under Jen’s parents’ gate one day. They decided to keep her. Megan is still a puppy (but growing up quickly), and sometimes that annoys Cody. Megan and Ava are finally friends (it took a while) and they love to play rough together. They call her Nutmeg sometimes because she can be really hyper and silly. Overall though, she’s fairly calm and really enjoys her sleep. Her funniest quirk is that she likes her face covered (except her nose) while she sleeps – it’s hysterical. As Cody has gotten older, he has transitioned more and more of his duties to her (guarding the house, for example).
Thank you Jen for choosing me to capture Cody’s portraits! I really enjoyed spending time with your trio.
