Poppy + Family

When I met Poppy and her wonderful family at Hartwood Acres Mansion in January, Mother Nature delivered the most gorgeous and warm afternoon for us. The entire session felt so relaxed, playful and fun, and I smile whenever I look back at the photos that we created that day.

Yan Fam Way 2.0 - Oregon

It rained every single time we pulled out our cameras during Yan Fam Way 2.0 at the Oregon Coast, and yet it was perfect. While sharing a house with 15 other photographers who had also taken Yan Palmer's workshop in the past, we dug deep to explore the big why behind our photography, and how it guides the images that we make. For me it brought back a memory of being out driving with my family as a kid, and stopping alongside the road for a little picnic in the middle of the blueberry patches. The joy of being together and enjoying a moment is something I often encapsulate in my work.

It was so special to spend the weekend with these beautiful souls, chatting, laughing, doing morning yoga, cooking, shooting, and reviewing each other's portfolios. Each individual really showed up and were completely open to give and receive feedback on how we could each grow as artists. So much gratitude for Yan who brings together this one of a kind community of creatives. Yan herself is a rare gift and amazing artist. She gives so much of herself in her teachings, and makes every single person feel seen. This weekend was magical.

Puppy Kisses & Baby Smiles

I'm so excited to share this session from last fall with a family that is very dear to me. I've had the honor to capture several of their milestones as a family over the years, and it was wonderful to see them again on this October day by the lake in Erie. Some of you may remember Lorelai and Mackie and their session at Hartwood Acres when Mackie was still a puppy, and fluffy as can be. This time their little brother had just turned one, and was all smiles. Here are a few favorites from their session.

A morning on the farm

When Janelle read my story about going home to Sweden to help out with my family's 35 acre potato harvest she called me and wanted me to come out and spend a morning on their farm. I had the most wonderful time walking and running through the fields with Janelle, Matt, their son Russell, and their Weimaraner Mabel on this beautiful October morning. I even got to play with Thomas the train before heading back to Pittsburgh. Here are a few favorites from their session.

Butterflies & Blooms | A Playdate at Phipps

Early this summer I immersed myself in a virtual film photography workshop for five wonderful weeks. Since I wanted to really push myself and the limits of film I asked my dear friend and mentor Emily if I could document her and her daughter Anna during a playdate at Phipps. Toddlers are fast, unpredictable, and it was so much fun to capture these mommy and me moments.
