The Barnes Family

Those of you who follow my blog may recognize Norah which I've had the pleasure to photograph several times this year. When her grandma Peg turned 75 the family gathered for a portrait session at the Fellows Riverside Garden in Youngstown. Despite being mid-November we totally lucked out on a warm-ish afternoon, and it was such an honor to capture these four generations together. Here are a few of my favorites. At the bottom of the post you can also view their session slideshow. Happy Birthday Peg!

Sweet Carolynn | Pittsburgh Family Photographer

I had briefly met Leonard and Karrie and their two dogs Zeke and Tyke at an event the previous year, and was happy when I received a call from Leonard. He explained that they were expecting a baby, and he wanted to purchase a session as a gift for his wife. Leonard is tops  in my book because I can't think of a more thoughtful gift than to have this precious time in their life as a family captured. Carolynn was about 4 months old when I met her. Whenever I hear the song Sweet Caroline, I think of Carolynn and how Karrie was singing it to her and substituting the name. I can't wait to see these guys again. A day in the life of an awesome family

Paula and Frank are my oldest Pittsburgh friends. I've literally known them since the first day I set foot in Pittsburgh. A couple of years ago they moved to Columbia, MD and we still see each other every once in a while. If not in person, through voice mails with silly birthday songs, and cell phone pictures of good times. Auki, their oldest son, was our ring bearer four years ago. It's crazy how time flies and how much he has grown from being a baby to become a very smart and thoughtful little guy. Their second son Inti (his name means Sun, which fits him so perfectly) was born earlier this year. A few days before they traveled to South America for his baptism, Bradley and I hit the road to visit them. Of course a few pictures were snapped (some of my all time favorites for sure), raspberries were picked, board games were played, and lots of laughter filled the air. It makes my heart happy that we got to spend the weekend together, and to capture a little snippet of their life.
