Bark Shadyside Pup Walk 2016

The 4th annual Bark Shadyside Pup Walk, sponsored by Think Shadyside and Petagogy, was held on Saturday April 16th in conjunction with the Great Shadyside Yard Sale and the Neighborhood Flea. Over 160 dogs joined the 1-mile walk in support for the Animal Rescue League. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and we couldn't have asked for better weather! Here are a few of my favorite images from the event. To see more, head on over to my Facebook page and feel free to tag yourself and your dog. If you love the photo that I took of your dog, you can order prints here.

Pit Bulls in Flower Crowns

I recently collaborated with Biggies Bullies and The Blue Daisy Floral Designs for a fun portrait session with three adorable Pit Bulls in flower crowns. Biggies Bullies, a small Pittsburgh PA, foster home based rescue is 100% volunteer developed and staffed. Their mission is to rescue and re-home Pit Bull type dogs in Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas. Educating the public on responsible pet ownership including positive force free training and the importance of spaying and neutering pets is also a huge part of their mission to help save these wonderful dogs. With love, care, and humane training, they ensure proper placement by making appropriate matches to the right families while remaining a lifelong resource for those families.

Bailey is an adoptable Pit Bull female that weighs 51 pounds and is 3-4 years old. She enjoys making new dog friends and would prefer a home without cats. She was found in an abandoned warehouse with two other dogs in Cleveland, Ohio in the middle of winter. She was tested positive for heartworm and spent most of the winter and start of this summer resting and receiving treatments. She's now healthy and ready to find a home of her own!

Bailey has a big personality for being such a small size pittie mix. She's house broken, crate trained and working hard on her manners as it’s very clear that before coming to Biggies Bullies she had never lived inside a home before. She's extremely smart and would thrive in a family that has experience with the breed and wants to actively work with her throughout her life. She’s sure to keep you laughing and she's always ready for a good snuggle or an adventure!

Veronica, Biggies Bullies volunteer manager, decided to adopt Roo after sharing a car ride to an outreach event. On their way home Veronica gave Roo a kiss on her forehead and asked if she liked cats. A month later she moved in.
